Portfolio of Recent Work
This portfolio showcases my recent technical communication and instructional design work and demonstrate my skills in designing, and implementing learning solutions.
1. Storyboarding
I designed an online tutorial on cold calling techniques for salespeople who need help with cold calling. I started by designing a detailed storyboard, then I used Articulate 360 Storyline and Powtoon, to develop the tutorial. The storyboards’s writing style was friendly and persuasive, with clear concise directives on how to be an effective and successful cold caller.
2. Redesign
This project required the editing and redesign of an instructions manual for a fountain. The manual detailed how to assemble, use and clean a solar-powered fountain.
The original manual is verbose, its paragraphs and sentences often crammed together and unclear in meaning. I critiqued the manual’s wording and design, then edited and redesigned the manual using UX and Gestalt design principles.
3. Podcasting
This was my very first podcast. I decided to make a podcast on a topic that I have a lot of experience in – cold calling.
The writing style for the script is expository. It delivered factual information to the listener in a simple, clear, logical and concise way (Markel and Selber 2018; Pringle and O’Keefe 2009)
‘Audacity’ software was used to create the audio podcast.
4. Website design
This is my second foray into developing a website. This new website was developed using HTML, CSS and JavaScript for the site’s interface design. I intend to use this website to display my creative writing. I also attached my CV to it.
